Fly ‘em High dogfrisbee in Hellevoetsluis and Switzerland!

It’s summer again, so competitions and demonstrations are filling our days! We spend a lot of time doing what we love to do……..play dogfrisbee!
After have organised the UFO Major in the last weekend of May, we drove on the 5th of June to Hellevoetsluis. There, the “largest dog walk” was held, organised by our sponsor, Eukanuba, Kids for Animals and the foundation for dog walks. Our demonstration was in the big hall, from were the participants started their walk. We had lots of fun with our dogs and the people loved it.

On the 11th of June we found ourselves suddenly in Uster, Switzerland. Uster is nearby Zürich. There the first Swiss UFO Major ever was held. A Major is a big competition, where the participants can qualify directly for the UFO World Cup Finals.
Reint was one of the judges, as always in the UFO competition in Europe. He is an anchor in Europe for the dogfrisbeesport and is a member of the international UFO board.
The weather the day before and after the competition was great. The day of the competition, however, started pretty rainy, but afterwards it stopped, luckily! We thought is was rather cold, but our dogs loved the lower temperature.
Our “oldies” didn’t take part, this time.
Yvette played with Lola, and, luckily, discovered Lola, after one minute, that Yvette is right-handed. The length of the competition is two minutes! Lola usually plays with Reint, and Reint is left-handed.
It looked great fun again and they were in the 7th place after one round. The best ten competitors are allowed to play the final round, so Yvette made the final! As only Dutch competitor, she made her way to the final, and we are very proud of them both! They ended in the 8th place overall.
The level of players was incredibly high.
Gesien and Luke took the 11th place in the freestyle competition, so they missed only just the final round. They ended overall as 14th.
Gesien and Yvette have gathered enough points to qualify for the European Cup Final and Yvette even has the qualification for the World Cup Finals already in her pocket!
